5. Take your time. (1) 表示时间充足,不必匆忙,意为:别急;慢慢来。如: There’s no need to rush back, just take your time. 不必急急忙忙赶回去,慢慢来。 Let’s sit down. Take your time and tell us all about it. 咱们坐下来,你慢慢给我们讲讲全部情况。 "Take a seat, and here’s a glass of wine for you",said the lawyer, "Now take your time and tell me plainly what you want. " “坐下,这是给你倒的一杯酒”律师说“现在不必急,坦白告诉我你要什么”。 有时可换用其它代词,且有时带有反语或讽刺意味,意为:拖拖拉拉;慢慢腾腾;不慌不忙。如: Speed was important here, but he just took his time. 在这里速度是很重要的,但他去慢慢腾腾。 You certainly took your time getting here! 你来得这么晚,也太不像话了。 (2) 用于道别,意为:慢走;再见。如: A:OK, I’ll be leaving now, Good-bye. 好,我要走了,再见。 B:Good-bye, and take your time. 再见,您慢走。 6. Time’s up. (1) 主要用于考场或赛场等地告诉应试者或参赛者时间已到的套语,意为:时间到了。如: Time’s up, everyone. Stop writing. 时间到了,大家停笔了。 Time’s up. Try the next one. 时间已到,试下一个吧。 (2) 用于一般场合叫某人停止做某事( 因为已做了够长一段时间),意为:时间到了。如: OK kids! Time’s up—get out of the pool. 好的,孩子们,时间到了—从游泳池里出来吧。 OK, Time’s up, let’s go home. 好了,时间到了,我们回家吧。 有时也说 The time is up. 如: The time is up, and we must go. 时间到了,我们该走了。 引用地址: |
