quarrel vi.争吵，吵架：He quarreled with his wife. 他与他妻子吵架了。/ They quarreled about the education of their child again. 他们为了孩子的教育问题再次争吵。/ I don’t want to quarrel with you about it. 我不想与你在这件事上争吵。n.[C]争吵，吵架： He had a quarrel with his wife. 他与他妻子吵架了。/ He never had a quarrel with anyone. 他从未和任何人吵过架。

 quarter n. 1.[C]四分之一：a quarter of a mile 四分之一英里 / for a quarter of the price 以四分之一的价格 2.[C]一刻钟：I will meet you at a quarter past six. 我六点一刻和你见面。/ It’s quarter to five. 现在是五点差一刻。

queue n.[C]行列，长队：It's not polite to jump the queue. 不按次序排队是不礼貌的。/ We had to wait in a queue for hours to get tickets. 我们要排队等候好几个小时才能买到票。vi.排队，排队等候：We queued for the bus. 我们排队等公共汽车。/ We had to queue for hours to get in. 我们必须排几个小时的长队才能进去。

quick adj.快的，敏捷的：Be quick about your work. 把活干得快点。/ Try to a little quick. 快一点。/ He's quick at learning[to learn] foreign languages. 他外语学得快。adv.快地，敏捷地：Don’t talk too quick. 别说得太快。/ I'll get back as quick as I can. 我将尽快赶回来。/ You get there quicker by bus. 你坐汽车去那儿会快一些。

quickly adv.快，迅速地：He quickly changed his clothes. 他迅速地换了衣服。/ It was an easy job and we did it quickly. 这是件容易做的活儿，我们很快做完了。

quiet adj.安静的，寂静的：Be quiet! 肃静！/ Keep quiet.保持安静。/ The house was quiet because everyone was asleep. 房子很安静，因为大家都睡着了。

quietly adv.安静地，寂静地：She quietly left the room. 她悄悄离开了房间。/ The horses fed quietly.马在静静地吃草。/ Go in quietly so as not to wake the baby. 悄悄地进去以免惊醒宝宝。/ She read the poem out quietly. 她小声地朗读了那首诗。

quite adv. 1.十分，相当：We are quite tired. 我们相当累了。/ He is quite interested in it. 他对此很感兴趣。/ He works quite hard. 他工作相当努力。2.完全：He's quite alone. 他孤零零一个人。/ That's quite impossible. 那完全不可能。/ You are quite right. 你完全正确。/ He has quite finished. 他已全部干完了。/ The two boys are quite different. 这两个男孩完全不同。

【考点】1.与不定冠词连用时，通常置于其前，但有时也可置于其后：He is quite a clever boy. / He is a quite clever boy. 他是相当聪明的男孩。2.除用于quite better(身体好)外，一般不用来修饰比较级，如不说quite colder等。3.习惯上不用于修饰副词too(太)，如不说He is quite too fat.(可改用rather, much等)
