seat 与 sit 的区别 用作动词时,两者均有“就坐”的意思,区别是: 1. seat 意为“使就坐”、“使坐下”、“能坐下(容纳下)”等,是及物动词。如: She seated the guest at the table. 她请客人在餐桌入席。 Seat the boy next to his mother. 让这男孩坐在他母亲旁。 The hall can seat 3 000 people. 这个大厅可容纳 3 000人。 注:用作动词的 seat 还通常用于 be seated 和 seat oneself 这两个结构。如: Please be seated, ladies and gentlemen. 女士们,先生们,请就坐。 She seated herself next to me. 她坐在我旁边。 2. sit 表示“坐”、“就坐”,通常是不及物动词。如: Never stand when you can sit. 能坐着就别站着。 They sat around the campfire and sang songs. 他们围坐在营火旁唱歌。 注:sit 有时也用作及物动词,表示“使坐下”或“使就坐”,与动词 seat 用法类似。如: He lifted the child and sat [=seated] her on the wall. 他把小孩举起来,让她坐在墙上。 Sit yourself down and tell us what happened. 你坐下,告诉我们出什么事了。(注:sit oneself down 可为固定短语) 3. sit 的过去分词是 sat,但用作表语、定语、宾语补足语等时,却通常要用 seated。如: Look at the seated model. 瞧那个坐着的模特。 I found some girls seated at the front. 我发现一些女孩子坐在前面。 |
