bed的用法与搭配

1. 表示“床”，为可数名词，可连用不定冠词（或其他限定词），也可用复数形式。如：

I need a light by my bed. 我的床边需要一盏灯。

I saw a bed in the corner. 我看出角落里有一张床。

Hard beds are healthier than soft ones. 硬板床比软床有利于健康。

若表示与“床”有关的活动——睡觉，则为不可数名词，其前习惯上不用冠词，也不用其他限定词。如：

It was too early for bed. 睡觉还太早。

I’ve put the children to bed. 我已安置孩子们睡觉了。

比较go to bed（上床睡觉）与 go to the bed（到床边去）：

He went to bed at 10 last night. 他昨晚10点钟上床睡觉。

He went to the bed and found a red box on it. 他走到床边，发现床上有个红盒子。

2. 有时用不用冠词与搭配有关，比较：

It’s a bad habit to read in bed. /It’s a bad habit to read on a [the] bed. 躺在床上看书是个坏习惯。

in bed和on the (a) bed均可表示“在床上”，但前一搭配习惯上不用冠词，而后一搭配习惯上要用冠词（当然也可根据情况说on my bed, on your bed, on that bed等）。
