across用法说明

一、用作介词

1. 横过，到…的另一边：

We can fly across the US in about five hours. 我们可以用5小时左右飞越美国。

2. 在…的对过：

They live just across the street. 他们就住在街对面。

3. 在(身体某部位)上：

She hit him across the face. 她打了他的脸。

4. 在…各处，遍及：

Her family is scattered across the country. 她的家人散居全国各地。

【用法说明】

across可用作介词或副词，但不能用作动词，cross才是动词：

go across a bridge 过桥

cross a bridge 过桥

【用法辨析】

across, through。前者指在面上穿过，后者指在里面或在一定空间范围内穿过：

Let’s help push the cart across the bridge. 让我们帮着把车子推过桥去。

The river flows through the city from west to east. 那条河从西向东流经这座城市。

二、用作副词

1. 穿过，跨过，从一边到另一边：

We walked across. 我们走过去了。

We got into the boat and rowed across. 我们上了船，将船划到对岸。

2. …宽：

The river is two miles across. 河有两英里宽。

3. 交叉

across from 在对面，在对过：

There’s a school just across from our house. 有一所学校就在我们房子对面。

【用法说明】

可说from across，也可说across from，前者中的across为介词，后者中的across为副词，均表示“在…的对面”“在…的另一边”。
