使用as的若干个错点

■他虽是个孩子, 但已干得很不错了。

误：A child as [though] he was, he did quite well.

正：Child as (=though) he was, he did quite well.

析：在 as 引起的让步状语从句的倒装形式中，置于句首的单数可数名词通常不用冠词。

■小孩喜欢像糖果和玩具之类的东西。

误：Children like such things like candy and toys.

正：Children like such things as candy and toys.

析：在 such... as 是固定搭配，不要受汉语影响将 as 换成like 之类的词。

■不要读你看不懂的书。

误：Don’t read such books that you don’t understand.

正：Don’t read such books as you don’t understand.

析：本来 such...as 和 such...that 都可以说，但在这两个结构中，as是关系代词，用以引导定语从句，且在此定语从句中用作 undeerstand的宾语；而 that 是连词，用以引导结果状语从句。比较：

误：He is such a clever boy as we all like him.

正：He is such a clever boy that we all like him.

■既然你很忙，那就不必来了。

误：As you are busy, so you needn’t come.

正：As you are busy, you needn’t come.

正：You are busy, so you needn’t come.

析：as 是从属连词，在此引导原因状语从句；so 是并列连词，在此连接一个并列句，所以此句结构混乱，应去掉其中一个。顺 便说一句，若 as 引导方式状语，则可以与 so 连用。如：As you treat me, so I shall treat you.(你怎样对我，我就怎样对你)。As you like music, so I like poetry.(正如你喜欢音乐，我喜欢诗歌)。

■我打算去邮局。——当你在邮局的时候，请帮我买几张邮票好吗?

误：I’m going to the post offic.—As you are there, can you get me some stamps?

正：I’m going to the post offic.—While you are there, can you get me some stamps?

析：as 引导时间状语从句表示“当...的时候”、“在... 期间” 时，该从句的谓语通常是那些表示动作意义的动词，而不能是 be(是，在), have(有)，like(喜欢)，belong(属于)等表示状 态或静态意义的动词。
