1. Ask me another!

(1) 用来回答熟人或朋友之间无聊的提问，意为：问点新鲜的； 多此一问；我怎么知道；别傻里傻气。如：

A：Are you fond of birds, Uncle John? 约翰叔叔，你喜欢鸟吗?

B：Ask me another, Jim. Well, I suppose so. 别傻里傻气了，吉姆，唔，我想大概喜欢吧。

A：Then how old is the lady?那么这位女士多大年纪了?

B：Ask me another. 我怎么知道。

(2) 用来回答一般性提问，意为：不知道(=I don’t know)。如：

A：What’s the population of Japan? 日本有多少人口?

B：Ask me another. 我不知道。

2. Don’t ask me.

表示：我不知道(=I don’t know)。如：

3. if you ask me

用来主动提出自己的看法或参考意见，意为：我认为； 依我看；要我说的话；要是我的话。如：

They should get married as soon as possible, if you ask me. 我认为他们应该尽快结婚。

A：I think he likes her. 我看他喜欢她。
